Book Club

A lady I haven't seen for 40 years called me today and asked me if I would sign a book if she brought it to the Beauty Salon.

Her name is Judy and she told me that her sister Gwen had told her that her book club had chosen 'I Almost Divorced my Husband but I Went on Strike Instead', to discuss that week and how much they all loved it.

She had said, "Judy, you have to read this book."

Judy had looked at the name and said, "Gwen, you know this person. She is the Sherri that used to do your hair."

It made my heart melt.

Send One to Each Daughter

A lady came in the Salon today and was telling me her experience with my book.

She said, "Sherri, the reason I was so excited to get your book wasn't so much for me, but I have a friend who really needed it."

She bought three more books and said, "After my friend read your book she was so excited that she told me to pick up one for each daughter and one for her daughter -in-law."

How exciting is that?

Signing and Hopfully a Marriage Saved

I went to an author palooza signing yesterday and met a wonderful woman. She bought my book and said she and her husband had an appointment with a marriage counselor on Monday. She didn't seem to know the consequences of divorce, so I informed her as to what her children were going to go through.
She was pretty angry with her husband and didn't have much good to say about him. I told her that it would be better for her if she read the book by herself first. That would help her to get rid of the anger and resentment. After that was accomplished she could read it with her husband.
She was talking about how expensive marriage counseling was. I informed her that if she couldn't afford a marriage counselor, there was no way she could afford a divorce.
We had a very nice visit.
She said, "If this saves my marriage, I will take you to lunch."
I answered, "If this saves your marriage, I will take YOU to lunch."

A Changed Man

I just got off of the phone with one of Geralds (male) cousins. He wanted to talk about my book.
He has had the book for 7 months so I was pretty anxious to hear what he had to say.
He started out by saying, "You know Sherri, I have to admit that When I first read the book, I did it with the idea of finding fault with it. And I did. I found part of it was good and some of it I didn't like."
Then he said, "The othert day, I picked it up and decided to read it for content. And I found it was masterful. Everything made sense and I could see that you really knew what you were talking about."
What he said next made my day. He said, "Yesterday, I read the whole thing clear through again from start to finish and I loved it."
We had a real good discussion about how the world needs this information.
Then he passionately stated, "You have to know Sherri, I don't do things like that. I have never read a book twice. Let alone three times. You have done yourself proud."
He told me that now he and his wife share everything in the house and they enjoy working together.
MADE MY DAY.
